Sherry L. Kachur

Sherry Kachur graduated with an LL.B. from the University of Alberta in 1991 and articled with a medium sized firm in British Columbia where she was trained as the firm's family law practitioner. She was admitted to the Bar of British Columbia in 1992 and returned to Alberta where she was admitted to the Bar of Alberta in 1993. Sherry practised at a medium sized firm in Calgary as a general practitioner with an emphasis on family law until she joined the firm of Turnbull Boyes (as it then was) in 1995. Sherry joined Soby Boyden Lenz in January, 2006 and became a partner in January, 2007. She is a certified mediator as well as a certified collaborative lawyer.

Sherry has extensive experience in dealing with all areas of family disputes including parenting, support and property distribution. Sherry strives to use alternative dispute resolutions in her practice. Sherry has tremendous people skills. By utilizing her training, skills and experience in processes such as mediation, collaborative law and arbitration, she believes her clients obtain the best results. This way, the clients continue to control the process and choose the ultimate goals for themselves, resulting in a more amicable resolution. Sherry has acted as both a mediator and arbitrator.
