Rani W. Wong

Rani Wong has travelled and lived across Canada and around the world, returning to her native Alberta in 2005 to raise her 3 children.  Born and raised in Edmonton, she earned her B.A. (Honours) in Economics at Queen’s University and her joint LL.B. and M.B.A. from the University of British Columbia.  Rani practiced corporate and commercial law with a focus on financial services with Canada’s top national law firms, including Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, Stikeman Elliott LLP and Bennett Jones LLP, in Vancouver, Toronto and Calgary.  She also practiced for 5 years with the New York law firm of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP in their Singapore office, acting for multinational corporations and financial institutions throughout Asia.

Rani is now focused on bringing her wealth of experience and knowledge to her current practice in family law, her passion and true calling.  Rani’s family law practice encompasses all areas of divorce and common-law separation, child custody, access and support, spousal support, division of matrimonial property, cohabitation agreements, pre-nuptial agreements, and separation agreements.  Her approach to family law is to use negotiation, mediation or other alternative dispute resolution, and litigation as techniques to efficiently resolve family law matters in a cost effective and timely manner.  Each family situation is unique and will call for different approaches at different stages of the matter.  Rani works closely with other professionals such as psychologists, business valuators, tax advisors, social workers, and real estate advisors in order to pursue and protect her client’s best interests and resolve outstanding family issues.
