Michelle Bailey attended the University of Saskatchewan where she earned her Bachelor of Laws with Distinction in 2002. Prior to that Michelle studied at Mount Royal College in Calgary where she earned a Bachelor of Applied Small Business Management in 1999. Upon graduation, she articled with the firm of Fraser Milner Casgrain LLP and was called to the Alberta Bar in 2003. Michelle has practiced exclusively in the area of family law since 2005. She was an associate lawyer with Laurie Allen & Associates in Calgary prior to joining Soby Boyden Lenz in April of 2009. Michelle is also a mediator.
Michelle recognizes the benefits of families working cooperatively to craft resolutions to match their unique circumstances. Michelle believes that preparation and sound legal advice should enable the vast majority of parties to resolve their disputes privately. However, in some cases, judicial intervention is warranted. Michelle has appeared on matters before the Provincial Court of Alberta and the Court of Queen's Bench.
Michelle has a wide variety of hobbies and interests, including sports and artistic endeavors. She particularly enjoys travelling with her husband.
