Micah graduated with Distinction from the University Of Saskatchewan College of Law in 2011.  In the years following graduation, Micah practiced civil litigation with a leading Western Canadian firm before shifting his focus to family law.  In addition to his family law practice, Micah has represented Indian Residential School Survivors who suffered prolonged physical and sexual abuse, and successfully negotiated and litigated claims on their behalf.

Micah has been practicing family law exclusively with Soby Boyden Lenz LLP since 2013.  Having successful trial experience, Micah has a passion for courtroom advocacy, but fully understands and appreciates the need for alternative dispute resolution processes.

Micah does not consider himself to be strictly a litigation lawyer, but rather an advocate who can be expected to adapt to the constantly evolving landscape of a family law matter.  Trust and communication are paramount in Micah’s family law practice, and his clients can expect an open line of communication at every step of the process.

Micah’s clients can expect the following in retaining his services:

1) Compassion - Family law clients are often going through the most difficult and painful experience of their lives.  Micah has direct access to community resources and reputable professionals who can help lessen the emotional burden in the often challenging family law process.

2) Civility and Respect - Micah strives to represent his client’s interests in a civil and dignified manner.  All families deserve dignity and respect, despite the level of conflict they may be facing.  Whether it is in a courtroom or mediation setting, Micah will not focus on non-legal issues that stall the resolution process or engage in unproductive communications with the opposing party which do not move the family law matter forward.

3) Preparedness - Micah provides clients with a thorough assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of a case, which will in turn allow clients to formulate the most effective strategy in order to provide Micah with informed and carefully considered instructions with confidence.

4) Resources - One of the founding partners of Soby Boyden Lenz LLP, John Soby QC, coined the phrase “If you hire one of us, you hire the team.”  Micah’s practice holds true to that statement, and he draws on over 150 years of experience amongst his colleagues to ensure that his clients have every strategy, option, opinion, and resources available in resolving their complex family law matter.
